What Grownups Will Do to Get a Free Ferris Wheel Ride!

Meet Lisa and Patrick Moore (center photo). She’s Snow White and he’s a big, cuddly bear. In real life they own a Ferris wheel in Newport Beach’s Balboa Fun Zone (they also have a carousel ride that’s looking for a new home if you know of a place that needs one.) When they announced that anyone dressed in costume would get a free ride on the World’s Longest Ferris Wheel Ride, people rose to the occasion. In came the Pope, the Doctor, the skeleton who loves Bingo, female action figures–and dozens of assorted dress-up characters, young and young at heart.

It’s truly a ride that can’t be beat. Sitting on the edge of the deck next to the Newport Harbor, the ride ascends for views of the Pacific Ocean, Balboa Pier, boats in the bay, mountains and sunsets. It’s one of the most spectacular Ferris Wheel rides in California, rivaled only by one in Santa Monica and another in Santa Cruz.  This promotional offer ended last night, but they have others! For less than a Starbucks specialty coffee drink you can see the most spectacular sights of the Southern California coast and feel like a kid as you glide through the air. Round & round you go!  The Balboa Fun Zone brings over 75 years of fun.
