Despite the fact that many Christmas tree farms suffered losses of young pine trees due to drought this year, there seems to be no shortage of trees to go around. But who needs a Christmas tree when you can be in Joshua Tree enjoying the rarest trees that uniquely grow in a special desert location?

It’s a different kind of holiday scene, so alien to the California-mountain way of thinking where snowplows busily clear roads so tourists can get to their favorite ski resorts in time for a White Christmas. Joshua Tree is open for business and for those celebrating trees, be sure to take note of the landmark tree for which the National Park was named. Happy Holidays from the desert where the only white you’ll usually see in the winter will be the snow-capped San Jacinto mountain peaks in the distance or blizzard-like conditions during a dreaded sand storms!
