WILD. WEEKEND. FESTIVALS

  • WILD: What are you doing this weekend, cowboy? This  Autry Museum of Western Heritage, and Big Bear Lake both honor the National Day of the Cowboy. Then there’s the NorCal Bull Run and tomato smashing.
  • FANTASY: Dungeons (or WarGames) and Dragons are the fantasies weekends are made of. In Redding don’t miss the  the NorCon Wargaming Convention. The colorful Dragon Boat Races (in Long Beach) and Hot Air Balloons (in Santa Paula) take flight. San Diego’s ComicCon is SOLD OUT, but their Hero Beer Festival where you dress up like cartoon creatures is not.
  • REBEL: Renegades have their way at  Renegade Craft Fair July 26 -27, 2014 in Grand Park,  Los Angeles. It’s “Not So Simple” Living Festival happens July 25-27, 2014 at the Mendocino County Fairground.
  • FEEDING FRENZY:  Food Festivals include Gilroy Garlic Festival, Oxnard Salsa Festival, Courtland Pear Fair and half a dozen BBQs cook-offs to fill you to the gill.
  • DRINK: CoffeeCon, Beer festivals and wine, of course!
  • MUSIC: Summer concerts and music festivals include Santa Cruz Beach Concert with Santana’s Gregg Rollie (Black Magic Woman).
