Christmas Wreaths are Everywhere You Look

If you take a stroll around Christmas you’ll see wreaths adorning gates and doors like you’ve never seen before! From one made of ice to another with brass sailing ships, from a NO SKATEBOARDING sign, to matching guitars (or guitar picks,) you can put just about anything in a wreath if it fits.

This week for just 15 bucks you can sponsor a wreath for someone else in the honor of their service to the U.S.

Wreaths Across America

The annual Wreaths Across America on Saturday, December 16, 2017 is a ceremony at over 50 cemeteries in California and hundreds nationwide. Only a few cemeteries (such as Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon) have actually fulfilled their goal of providing a wreath for every military grave. Some in California this year are at a paltry 1 percent of their goal while small cemeteries such as Guadalupe’s Cemetery District with 14 military graves appear to have met their mark of an evergreen wreath with a red bow for every grave stone for a veteran who has passed.

Some places where you can attend a ceremony, contribute a wreath optionally, and even volunteer include:

Arroyo Grande Cemetery
Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin
Auburn Cemetery District
Brea Memory Gardens
El Toro Memorial Park
San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine
Lancaster Cemetery District
Los Angeles National Cemetery
Presidio of Monterey Cemetery
Mt. Hope Cemetery in Morgan Hill
Riverside National Cemetery
Sacramento County Veterans Memorial
San Bruno Golden Gate National Cemetery
San Diego Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery
San Jose Los Gatos Memorial Park
Seaside California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery
Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Park
Tracy Public Cemetery
Vallejo All Souls Cemetery
