If you’re in a bad mood and have an attitude this Halloween head for a zoo. In California there are more than 15 zoos where you can lighten up as you watch bears, owls, skunks and a variety of animals take a bite out of the holiday with their sharp teeth and willingness to crush icons such as jack-o-lanterns. The most popular celebration involves giving zoo animals their own carved pumpkins to play with, climb inside, or pulverize. From Boo at the Zoo in Atascadero, Big Bear Lake, Fresno, Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Ana, Santa Barbara and Eureka, to Living Desert’s Howloween, Yogi Bear and BooBoo will have plenty of picnic snacks to munch on before hibernating time.
