For those who expect the best, take a food tour with GraceAnn Walden the next time you’re planning a trip to San Francisco. This weekend she’s doing a Latino Food and Mural walk on April 25 at 11 a.m. and then again on May 2, 2015. According to Walden: “We learn the history of the Mission district from the Germans, to the Irish to the Mexicans to the Central Americans. We stop nearby at Dynamo donuts for their outrageous donuts (Apple-maple-bacon, Passion fruit, Spicy chocolate) and coffee. I talk about the murals, we visit Casa Lucas and Casa Sanchez. We taste the best tamales in SF and do a little Gigantic shopping. Finally we go to Balmy Alley, which is full of historic murals. We conclude with lunch at the family-owned Tio Chilo, restaurant. We all have ceviche, guacamole, chile relleno, pork in green sauce, chicken in red sauce, rice, beans and tortillas.” To reserve your spot, the food lady: (415) 302-5898.
