When you drive along the busy 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, a community of Long Beach, there's a beautiful bay you may notice to your left (driving north) or right (coming south). Sometimes you'll see people on the beach, you may notice a few swimmers doing laps, and maybe you'll watch a few duffy boats heading under the bridge. This beach is an inlet to the Pacific Ocean and as such the water quality should be checked before heading in. There normally aren't issues with water quality but it's always best to check with healthebay.org beach report card before you go.

Contains several marinas with berthing capacity for 2,000 boats. Water-skiing is permitted only in Marine Stadium. Alamitos Bay Beach is a narrow, sandy swimming beach south of 2nd St. on the bay side. Kayak rentals available.
