Pirate's Cove is located off Highway 101 Avila Beach exit not far from the golf course.
Pirates Cove is kind of a family nude beach.... If that make sense... not a pickup seen at all...it's hard to explain.....
But seriously families do go there..... young families with little kids.... and sometimes they smoke pot..... there's a volleyball net and when people play things flop all over the place. It's really kind of funny..... the people playing know it's funny too.... but it's also very clothing optional so if one doesn't feel like disrobing there's no nudie police to get on his/her back.... it could be a really sketchy vibe, I know... it's really not not that at all .... somehow if you can get this, it's really quite wholesome.
Pirate's Cove in Avila Beach hasn't lost its uniqueness even 100 years after the secret spot once known by smugglers as a landing spot to haul their illegal liquor containers ashore from cargo ships. It's said that townsfolk protected the smugglers and sometimes assisted in efforts.
The Central Coast hideaway in San Luis Obispo County features a
parking lot on a plateau overlooking the coast. There's a hiking path
leading to the vista where some like to fish, others gaze at the
ocean & sky, and others weave their way down
wood-plank step to a small sandy cove.
Nearby activities and points of interest include Avila Pier, Port
San Luis, the town of Avila Beach with several hotels and a golf
course resort which hosts special food festivals, wine & beer
festivals and concerts.
Naturist beaches are somewhat limited in California to remote
locations in counties of Santa Cruz,
San Mateo and San Diego.
