Seal Beach Volunteerism

Seal Beach is old-fashioned and for that, you can thank its volunteers who act as stewards to the beach. One such group is called Save Our Beach (SOS). They are frequently seen on weekends performing beach cleanups. Students and corporate partners are invited and students can receive certificates to help their grades or fulfill requirements for classes.

Seal Beach volunteers don't end at the beach but it's a great starting point for volunteerism, as the city would have to change its name if the beach was gone.

Another group that performs beach cleanups is Surfrider Foundation. There is a local chapter that meets at Seal Beach to pick up trash, clean up messes and help take care of problems that may exist.

Beach volunteers are an important ingredient of clean beaches in Seal Beach. The city is small (less than 100,000 residents) and has limited, yet vital services.

One thing you might consider in moving to or visiting Seal Beach. The next time you go to the beach, help by picking up trash. You're not just setting an example for the youth that go there and don't clean up. You're also helping the birds and sea life, defenseless creatures that live or visit Seal Beach, as well.
