AquaLink and AquaBus Water Taxis are back on the water seven days a week from Memorial Weekend to Labor Day. Long Beach Transit often extends the length of the season with limited service available.

AquaBus service connects customers to popular downtown attractions like The Queen Mary, Aquarium of the Pacific, Pine Avenue Circle, hotels and Shoreline Village.

AquaLink service connects The Queen Mary and Aquarium visitors to eastside ocean-front destinations like Belmont Pier and Alamitos Bay Landing.

Long Beach, CA-- Aqualink is part of the Long Beach Transit public transportation system.  The boat snack bar sells beverages and snacks. The complete, one-way ride takes approx. 45 minutes with stops at Alamitos Landing, Queen Mary and Aquarium of the Pacific.

Every year from late May to early September a bright yellow, red and purple boat pulls up to Alamitos Landing, public docks next to Queen Mary ship, and Shoreline Village near the Aquarium of the Pacific. This colorful, high-speed Catamaran boat is the Long Beach's public transportation option during the summer season for seeing many of the bay sights, restaurants and attractions.

While San Francisco Bay Area offers an extensive transportation system, as does San Diego, Los Angeles is not equally represented in terms of its public water transportation. When L.A.'s red car trains were dumped into the sea back in the 60s, the commitment was made to making the car king of everything.  Los Angeles basin is slowly coming around, thanks to millions of dollars of investment and one unique program created by the Long Beach Transit, primarily to help tourism.

For a single rider price of approx. $10 round-trip you may be breaking even on parking fees or spending more or less than you would by parking as the Shoreline area.

What do you get? You can sit outside where the wind blows and a salty mist wets your skin. Or you can sit in comfortably cushioned chairs inside where there's a beverage bar serving drinks and light snacks.
