During the Christmas holiday people take time to relax, contemplate and celebrate religious traditions. • Los Angeles, which means The Angels, is often called the City of the Angels. Founded in 1781, it may have gotten its name from the Franciscan settler Father Juan Crespi.
• Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim ball team has gone through several name changes, but always keeps "Angels" as a component, originating from the City of Los Angeles.
• Angels Gate Light in Los Angeles Harbor is a light station that's been a beacon for the busy Port of Los Angeles since 1913. The lighthouse sits in San Pedro Bay.

• Hells Angels, a motorcycle club, was founded in Fontana, California in 1948.
