Spend an evening this holiday season at San Diego Botanic Garden's Lightscape, an outdoor holiday lighting experience, where visitors can safely stroll amidst more than one million festive holiday lights throughout 11 themed areas within the Garden's 37 acres.
Offering exciting new installations along with returning favorites, the one-mile walking trail is custom designed with spectacular international artistic installations that come to life after dark with color, imagination, and sound. Painted with colored lights that blend with nature while accenting the Botanic Garden's beautiful trees, flowers and fauna, the lights sometimes cast long shadows, create silhouette effects, reflect on water, or bathe objects in iridescence, creating other-worldly scenes. This truly unique holiday experience includes festive music, a fire garden, food and seasonal drinks you can purchase.
Many spectacular garden areas are adorned with lights and holiday decorations. In past seasons they included Dickinson Family Education Conservatory, Toni's Treehouse, the Rainforest and Waterfall, the Lawn Garden, Canary Islands/Cork Oak Grove and Seeds of Wonder Children's Garden.
