Recapture the spirit of Christmas past in historic downtown Grass Valley, California during the annual Cornish Christmas Celebration, over 50 years and glowing! Mill and W. Main Streets are closed to motorized traffic and filled with the sights and sounds of an old fashioned Christmas; carolers, jugglers, musicians, the Grass Valley Cornish Carol Choir, Tommyknocker Cloggers and Santa Claus. Handmade arts and craft from artists throughout California are displayed on the streets. Delicious food and drink can be purchased from a number of restaurants and specialty food.

Cornish Christmas is a charming family event, with a craft fair and shopping opportunities that include  handmade gift items sold by vendors. Recapture the spirit of Christmas past with vendors dressed in Cornish attire all set in the charming surroundings of historic downtown Grass Valley. Stroll the downtown streets and enjoy old-fashioned activities, foods and events --chestnuts roasting on an open fire, homemade gifts and entertainers. There are food vendors selling sandwiches, snacks and beverages.

Mill and W. Main Streets are closed to traffic and filled with  hand-crafted vendors, satisfy your sweet tooth with an old-fashioned treat from one of our food vendors, entertain your family by stopping at one of 4 stages filled with carolers, musicians, and of course the Grass Valley Cornish Carol Choir will be appearing nightly on the Union Steps. Santa Claus will be available for pictures and visits in Santa's Workshop. Free gift wrapping for your downtown purchases, free kids activities and letters to Santa, face painting and more!

Billed as the best shopping in the Sierra Foothills, you'll find ceramics, paintings, glass art, clothing, jewelry, and affordable prices for holiday shopping.

In addition to providing shopping, the event looks for talented people of all types--singers, dancers, musicians, magicians, etc. World renowned Cornish Carol Choir, Costumed Vendors, Strolling carolers and entertainers line the streets and entertain in a festive holiday atmosphere.

Kids Activities- Including Go Karts, Pony Rides, Santa Claus and more. The event is sponsored by the Grass Valley Downtown Association
