Seal Beach, CA Christmas Window Display with Slick

Seal Beach, California Christmas is a special time of year. One of the best places to soak up the holiday experience is Main Street, an old-fashioned four block shopping district where some of the merchant displays include holiday themed windows seasonally painted with decorations such as Slick the Seal riding a Pacific Ocean wave to the sway of palm trees.

The city was named for seals, and Slick is the resident, fictional mascot who sits in a bronzed cast at the base of the pier. Children run to Slick and hug the pint-sized bronze sculpture, while adults reach over to give Slick a pat on the nose.

When visiting Seal Beach to do your Christmas shopping, you will find approx. 20 restaurants ranging from Irish, Mexican, BBQ, Seafood, Greek, French, Thai and Chinese to Cinnamon Buns and Ice Cream. There are even more shops selling clothing, antiques, home decor, art, and sports. And you'll find services such as hair and nails, computer repairs, and many more businesses.

The highlight or anchor to downtown Seal Beach at Christmas is the Seal Beach Pier and adjacent Eisenhower Park holiday tree display. Be sure to wander to the pier to take a moment to reflect and enjoy the beauty of this seaside destination.
