Artesia Park

Parade of Lights  steps off from Bulldog Bowl. Runs 5-6 p.m. Santa Takes a Holiday is this year's theme.

Light Up Artesia is the kickoff to the holiday season in downtown Artesia! Artesia Main Street becomes a winter wonderland with thousands of lights in the trees along Main Street. Everyone gathers downtown for late night shopping with downtown merchants while Santa Claus is escorted downtown with the Parade of Lights. Santa stays to listen to holiday requests while outdoor vendors sell holiday gifts and treats.

Artesia's annual holiday celebration and tree lighting ceremony is always a huge hit with 500 to 1,000 Artesians showing their holiday cheer. The mayor invites everyone to join him to count down for the tree lighting.

Artesia city officials block off the street in front of City Hall for a few minutes so crowd is safe as the tree is lit. Usually a choir performs holiday songs. Other events include the arrival of Santa Claus at the community center.

If you love holidays and celebrations, Artesia participates in many annual events such as the annual Halloween Spooktacular inviting the public to share in the fun.

Events are not guaranteed. It is your responsibility to confirm before going.
