Swift, short-legged Dachshunds race to the finish line. The best known race is Wiener Dog Nationals held in Los Alamitos at the Racetrack in July, and in San Diego later in the year.

This year the Wiener Dog Race is being put on with the help of volunteers from Animal Outreach. The cat rescue organization is going to the dogs! All proceeds will support their work in El Dorado County and surrounding areas. 
Note: Each Wiener Dog Entry must have 2 race handlers - one at each end.
Artificial turf course is easy on wiener dog feet! Please mail, email or drop off Registration & Release Forms or your dog will not able to race.
The  annual Oktoberfest will feature Craft Breweries and a Wine Garden featuring the wines of El Dorado County, live Bavarian Music, Beer contests with prizes, Weiner Dog races, Bavarian Dance demonstrations, a family area with games and activities for children, German Food, vendors and more.

The very famous Dachshund Derby is back again with signups open until 1:30 on Saturday. There is a $10 entry fee per dog. Doxie Derby dachshunds races. Come cheer for your favorite pup! The Veterinary School Dean dons a special costume and racing the winning doxie.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FAIR Small Dog Races
 All dogs must meet the weight and height requirement (less than 28 lbs AND 15" at the shoulder). Dog may be weighed and measured at the discretion of the Racing Officials. The Racing Officials will disqualify any dog that does not meet these requirements. The dogs can be pure-bred or mixed. Every effort will be made to run dogs of similar breeds and weights in the same heats.
