The ceremonies offer a tribute to fallen veterans, conducted by the Columbia Militia Color and the Columbia Grenadine Belles.   Memorial Day services are held in the old Veterans section at the Columbia Cemetery. The ceremony takes about 20 minutes. There will be prayers, information on Memorial Day, the Battle Hymn of the Republic and a salute to those buried in this section.

The commemoration continues nearby (walking distance) with a ceremony and musical performance by the 191st U.S. Army Band. This event is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and bring chairs to School House Street. for the 1 p.m. tribute.
