2025 Ceremony

An eternal flame of remembrance is lit at the beginning of the ceremony

Guest speaker  Colonel Charles 'Clay' Readinger, Commanding Officer of Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division

Guest speaker  Kathryn Morrison, US Army, retired

Color Guard

Rifle Salute

Taps

Singer Chad Berlinghieri, with LA Philharmonic and Opera Pacific

Orange County Fire Authority bagpiper accompanies the Marine Color Guard with song

Ceremony  concludes with a rifle salute and playing of taps.

Attendees receive candles at the end of the ceremony to place  around the eternal flame memorial in remembrance of a fallen hero

Light refreshments served

The City of Mission Viejo  pays homage to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country during its annual Memorial Day Ceremony. As with year's past, the 3-foot by 9-foot American Heroes Tribute Banners honoring veterans who have lost their lives in combat are on display throughout the Civic Center walkway and The Kershaw Garden.
