California Veterans Day Parades

Veteran's Day is a national holiday in the United States held on November 11. In addition to many ceremonies, civic speeches and celebrations, here are some Veterans Day Parades in California

AUBURN: Auburn Veterans Day Parade, 100 Years of Remembrance, November 11, 2018, 10:50 a.m. Parade starts at Lincoln Way and Cleveland Street, pausing at the Central Square at 11 a.m. for a patriotic  release of doves, followed by a fly-over, a three volley rifle salute and  TAPS. The parade resumes to High Street, ending at Gold Country Fairgrounds. Complimentary luncheon with hotdogs, chips, cookies, soft drinks served at the Maurine Dobbas Placer Hall for participants and spectators. "Proud to be an American" Celebration and ceremony follows the luncheon with music, singing and exhibitions.

COPPEROPOLIS: Copperopolis Veterans Day, 1 p.m. on Main Street proceeds to Mineral Street to Little John Road. Hosted by the James D. Piper VFW Post 12118 with the Copperopolis Fire Department and Lake Tullock Lions Club, this is a rain or shine event. Food and events at 370 Main Street after the parade.

CRESCENT CITY: Veterans' Day Parade November 10, 2018. Parde begins at  9th & H Streets. Lunch is at the Veteran's Hall, at Noon. Vets & spouses eat for free. Public is $8. Lunch catered by the awesome kids from the Lake Earl Grange! Please show your support of  Veterans! This year there are 5 female grand marshals. ELK GROVE: Elk Grove Veterans Day Parade and Salute November 11, 2018, 11 a.m. Ceremonies at 10 a.m. 
Join thousands of community members to honor our Men and Women Veterans of the Armed Forces during the Annual Veterans Day Parade. Parade events start at 10 a.m. with an opening ceremony at the Elk Grove Shopping Center, 9108 Elk Grove Florin Road. The parade will proceed south on Elk Grove Florin Road at 11 a.m. and end at Elk Grove Regional Park, 9950 Elk Grove Florin Road. Streets closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for this event. elkgrovecity.org

FAIRFIELD: Veterans Day Commemoration and Parade November 11, 2018, 12:30-2 p.m. Commemoration Ceremony 10 a.m. Ceremony with prayer & music at 10 is held at Downtown Theatre, 1035 Texas. Parade 12:30 p.m. Location: Civic Center Drive at the Chamber of Commerce, 1111 Webster St. 4. Parade Begins: 12:30 - Assembly Areas: Webster Street, beginning at Kentucky. Parade will be traditional, allowing one minute for a salute at Reviewing Stand and will not include political entries.

FALLBROOK: Veteran's Day Parade November 11, 2018, 10 a.m. Where: Downtown Fallbrook - Main Street from Fallbrook St. to Alvarado St.  VFW Post 1924. Marching vets, Fallbrook High School Marching Band, Air Patrol Cadets, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts,  fallbrookchamberofcommerce.org

FOLSOM: Wayne Spence Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2018, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Starts at the HomeGoods parking lot at 430 Blue Ravine Road The 1.5-mile parade enters E. Bidwell Street from Montrose Drive, heading westbound on E. Bidwell Street, then northbound on Coloma Street to Natoma Street. At the Folsom Community Center at 52 Natoma Street the parade concludes with a brief ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Folsom City Lions Park. 3,000 participants include marching bands, floats, classic cars, riders on horseback, color guard and more. folsom.ca.us

FULLERTON: Fullerton Veterans Day Ceremony November 12, 2018, 10:20 a.m.
The observance, hosted by Fullerton American Legion Post 142, Fullerton Emblem Club 469 and the City of Fullerton, will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a parade in Fullerton's historic downtown. The parade will begin at the Downtown Plaza, located on Wilshire Avenue, east of Harbor Boulevard and adjacent to the Fullerton Museum Center, go North on Harbor Blvd., to the newly renovated Hillcrest Park. Once at Hillcrest Park, a ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. The ceremony will include placement of wreaths, patriotic solos by Kristen Romero, a gun salute by the Fullerton Police Department and the playing of  Taps. Veterans Day Observance November 12, 2018. Allen Stubblefield, Commander, United States Navy (Ret) is speaker at Veterans Day ceremony. All veterans are welcome to join in the parade, which will also feature JROTC units from Fullerton area high schools and the Fullerton High School Marching Band. The Troy High School Navy JROTC unit will carry flags representing all 50 U.S. states.  cityoffullerton.com

FRESNO: Veterans Day Parade, Largest Veterans Day Parade on the West Coast November 11, 2018 at 11:11 am in front of Fresno City Hall, Fresno, CA. 10:15 a.m. Dignitaries; 11 a.m. Opening Ceremony. LEMOORE: Veterans Day Parade hosted by American Legion Post 100 on November 11, 2018, 6 p.m. on D Street in Lemoore. MERCED: Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2018, 12 p.m. Merced County Veterans Council, Merced County Human Services Agency, and the Merced County Chamber of Commerce Veterans Day Parade in downtown Merced features an opening ceremony at Bob Hart Square and the parade. Parade route: Main Street beginning at G Street to Canal Street, right on Canal to left on 18th Street Merced CA co.merced.ca.us

MODESTO: Modesto Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2018, 9 a.m. Parade begins at 10th & O Street, proceeds down Needham Street to Graceada Park. Ceremony & vendors at the park following the parade. visitmodesto.com

MURRIETA: Veterans Day Parade. November 11, 2018, 1 p.m. at Ivy Street / Washington Avenue to B Street and ends at Town Square Park. Parade includes an aviation flyover and The National Anthem.  murrietaca.gov

OROVILLE: Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2018, 11 a.m. Honors service men and women with a parade beginning at Feather River Blvd. down Montgomery St. in historic Downtown Oroville to Oroville Veterans' for all of Butte County Memorial Park. PALM SPRINGS: Palm Springs Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2018, 3:30 p.m.

The City of Palm Springs proudly presents the 22nd annual Palm Springs Veterans Day Parade on Sunday, November 11 at 3:30 p.m. in downtown Palm Springs. The parade begins at Ramon Road and Palm Canyon Drive and heads northbound on Palm Canyon Drive to Alejo Road. The parade lasts approximately one hour and concludes with a patriotic concert and fireworks finale. The main stage is located at the intersection of Amado Road and Palm Canyon Drive. The City of Palm Springs has once again been designated as a Regional Site for the observance of Veterans Day by the Department of Veterans Affairs. We are one of just sixty events selected nationwide to receive this honor. Our parade theme is "Honoring All Who Served". This parade is one of the largest in Southern California and is supported by military units, marching bands, veterans' organizations and much more. PERRIS: Veteran's Day Parade November 3, 2018, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Route: Downtown D St. The City of Perris honors those who have served our country with pre-parade entertainment 9 a.m. and the parade at 10 a.m. cityofperris.org

PETALUMA: North Bay Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2018, 12 p.m. Music in the Gazebo at 12 p.m. Parade starts at 1 p.m. The largest Veterans Day Parade in Northern California makes its way through downtown. Route Petaluma Blvd. at Washington to D Street then back on 4th Street to return. Huey helicopters, tanks, and more than 100 entries offer pomp and circumstance. PORTERVILLE: Veteran's Day Parade November 12, 2018, 10 a.m. - Noon. The 100th annual Veterans Day Parade begins at the corner of Morton & Main Street in Downtown Porterville. Before the patriotic and historic event there's a Veterans Day 5K/10K Run which begins at 7:30 a.m.  ci.porterville.ca.us

REDLANDS: The Redlands Veterans Day Parade and Picnic November 11, 2018, 9 a.m. Parade begins at Redlands Blvd. and Citrus Ave. ending at Jennie Davis Park, Redlands Blvd. and New York St.  Ceremony by American Legion at 10:30 a.m. Celebration in park follows. Redlands, CA cityofredlands.org

SACRAMENTO: Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2018, 10 a.m. Salute to veterans launches the event on the 5th Street Main Stage at 10 a.m. Then, at 11 a.m. the Veterans Day Parade begins at Capitol Mall & 3rd and ends at 9th Street. The Veterans Day Parade is not only comprised of veterans, but includes military organizations, high school marching bands, vintage military vehicles and community organizations. SALINAS: Veteran's Day Parade November 11, 2018,  2 p.m. From 1 to 2 p.m. there's an Opening Ceremony. Route: from South Main Street & Chestnut Street to South Main Street & Central Avenue, Presented by: Salinas Veterans Day Committee.  The American Legion, Women's Auxiliary, Sons of American Legion and The American Legion Riders have been involved previously. salinasveteransparade.org

SAN BERNARDINO: Veterans Day Salute & Parade November 11, 2018, 11 a.m. Parade begins at 11 a.m. at 7th & D Streets, ending at Meadowbrook Park, 250 N. Sierra Way, for a ceremonial salute. Free.

SAN DIEGO: Veteran's Day Parade November 10, 2018, 11 a.m. on N. Harbor Drive in front of the County Administration Building in the vicinity of the Fountain Plaza at the Waterfront Park. Route: The one mile route proceeds south on N Harbor Drive past a long row of grand stands, and past the Wyndham Bayside Hotel, and past the B Street Pier, to Broadway where the route turns left onto Broadway for one block to Pacific Highway, and turns right onto Pacific Highway to proceed south for two blocks to end at G Street and the Dismissal Area. sdvetparade.org

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY: Veteran's Day Parade November 11, 2018, 11:11 a.m.  The parade begins at Laurel Canyon Blvd. and San Fernando Mission Blvd, proceeding down Laurel Canyon Blvd. 1.1 miles and culminate at the Ritchie Valens Recreation Center and Park, 10736 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Pacoima, CA 91331 (corner of Laurel Canyon Blvd. and Paxton St.). SANTA BARBARA: Veterans Parade November 10, 2018, 12 p.m. Free The Santa Barbara Veterans Day Parade is a star spangled salute to all veterans complete with WWII vehicles and re-enactors, heroes from all branches of the military, a Huey helicopter, and historic military aircraft flyovers! Come cheer on our heroes past and present as the parade makes its way down State Street. (from Sola to the Carriage Museum, 129 Castillo St. Following the parade, there's a Salute to Vets & Parachute Landing  complete with BBQ, live music and military vehicles on display at the Carriage and Western Art Museum of Santa Barbara, 12-5 p.m. $20 admission and $10 optional lunch. SAN JOSE: Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2018, 11 a.m. Sponsored by the UVC with support from the City of San Jose and County of Santa Clara, Veterans Day Parade, one of the largest in Northern California, honors all who served or are currently serving their country. The Opening Ceremony for the Parade begins on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month with a memorial ceremony at Plaza de Cesar Chavez on Market Street in honor of the 1918 Armistice of the War to End All Wars. VISALIA: Visalia Veterans Day Parade at Visalia Public Cemetery November 11, 2018, 9-10:15 a.m. Parade around the cemetery to be led by The Patriot Guard Riders, PatriotMOMS and VFW Aux. 1864. Veterans Day Presentation begins with the raising the military flags by current members of the military, at Visalia Cemetery, 1300 West Goshen Avenue. The short service includes a flag escorted parade around the cemetery. WEST SACRAMENTO: West Sacramento Veterans Day Parade Nov. 11, 2018, 1 p.m. The parade, featuring floats, bands, veterans and patriotism in this special salute to United States war veterans at the Veterans Day Parade in downtown West Sacramento.
