Global retail sales of fur show an increase of 5.4% in 2010 compared to
2009, bringing the total figure to over $14 billion, according to the leading
authority on fur, the International Fur Trade Federation (IFTF). *1
This increase reflects the continued rise in popularity of fur garments amongst fashion conscious consumers, particularly in the Far East. Despite the economic slow-down, fur sales in the West remained stable, buoyed by the cold winter.
