Alpine -- Sage & Songbirds Festival

Alpine's Viejas Center hosts an
annual celebration of the town's
recognition by the National Wildlife
Federation as "America's 1st Community
Wildlife Habitat." Festivities include
tours of five beautiful bird- and
butterfly-friendly home gardens filled
with botanical wonders (ticket price is
$15), plus a free festival at the Viejas
Outlet Center that includes a plant and
art sale, live butterfly exhibit and
daily butterfly releases.
Center to Help Instill Respect &
Preservation for Garden Wildlife
(CHIRP) is dedicated to the preservation
and enjoyment of birds, butterflies, and
other creatures of habitat, through
hands-on and interactive programs and
gardens.
The two day event at the Viejas
(Casino) Outlet Center includes
community and crafts vendor booths,
informative displays, and daily
entertainment.
