Carmel Art Festival May 17 - 20, 2012

Carmel by the Sea, California --Carmel Art in the Park is a multi-event art festival held on Mother's Day Weekend. It features  Quick Draw competition, Plein Air contest and Sculpture in Park. This fund-raising event to benefit local youth - arts programs, turned 18 in 2011.

 Carmel Art Festival is designed to educate and inspire people of all ages about the visual arts. The Festival includes Quick Draw by the winning artists, Plein Air and Sculpture-in-the-Park events, as well as a Kids Art Day.

The Carmel Art Festival is a non-profit organization with donations from these events supporting local youth art programs. The Carmel Art Festival is always the weekend after Mother's Day weekend, but if you can't attend, absentee bidding allows you to still bid on paintings.

Information on individual Gallery Receptions & Demonstrations will be available at the CAF Information Tent in Devendorf Park.

Thursday, May 12: 12 Noon: Sculpture-in-the-Park Exhibition opens in Devendorf Park.
12 Noon: Information Tent opens in Devendorf Park. Purchase CAF Posters!
All day: Plein Air artists start painting throughout Monterey Peninsula area

Friday, May 13:
All Day: Sculpture-in-the-Park Exhibition in Devendorf Park.
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Information Tent open Devendorf Park.
2   p.m. - 5:30  p.m.   Live Music in Devendorf Park - Derek Smith Steel Drum Duo
All day: Plein Air artists painting throughout Monterey Peninsula area, 2nd day.

Saturday, May 14:
All Day: Sculpture-in-the-Park Exhibition in Devendorf Park.
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.:  Information Tent open Devendorf Park. Purchase CAF Posters!
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Live Music in Devendorf Park - Illuminati Trio
2:30 - 6 p.m.:  Live Music in Devendorf Park - Nick Williams Trio
1 4 p.m.: Kids-Make-Art-Day. Plein Air Awards, Silent & Live Auction:
8  - 10 a.m. - Judging of Plein Air Paintings.
10   a.m.  - 6   p.m. - Public view and bidding on plein air paintings from competition.
5   p.m. - Plein Air Awards Ceremony.
6   p.m. - Close of Silent Auction; followed immediately by Live Auction.

Sunday, May 15:
All Day: Sculpture-in-the-Park Exhibition in Devendorf Park.
10   a.m.  - 4 p.m.: Information Tent open Devendorf Park. Purchase CAF Posters!
12 NOON -3 p.m.: Live Music in Devendorf Park - Rotary Club Jazz Band. Quick Draw & Sale of Plein Air Paintings: Throughout Carmel:
9   - 11   a.m.  - "Quick Draw" by winners of Festival; painting throughout Carmel. Devendorf Park:
11   a.m.  - Quick Draw viewing of paintings, followed by Silent & Live Auction about 11:30 a.m.  On Mission Street:
