Alhambra Lunar New Year

The San Gabriel Valley will ring in the year of the dragon in the upcoming weeks, celebrating Lunar New Year with art exhibits, street festivals, and traditional Chinese dragon dancing. Alhambra will host its annual Lunar New Year street festival.

  • Culinary Stage showcases cooking demonstrations inspired by Asian cuisine, where local chefs will whip up delicacies right before your eyes.
  • Performance Stage includes Korean fan dancing, the community band from Vez Guitar, the return of the Money God, a breakdance competition, and more.
  • Artisan Alley features favorite local SGV goods and craft vendors selling their wares. Support local artisans and find unique, handcrafted items to take home as mementos of this auspicious day.
  • Augmented Reality (AR) experiences transports you to a world of wonder. Don’t miss the realistic fireworks display that lights up the festival all day!

Approximately 250 businesses, restaurants, health centers, car dealerships, and various organizations from the San Gabriel Valley will have booths between Garfield Avenue and Almansor Street, offering information, food, giveaways, and prizes. Activities will include dragon boat rowing, children's workshops, and cultural demonstrations. There will also be two performance stages featuring Chinese traditional dances and kung fu demonstrations.
