If days of celebrating the New Year are your thing, head for the humongous Hmong New Year in Fresno, billed as the largest Hmong New Year's celebration in the world.

The cultural festival includes a beauty pageant, costumes, entertainment, sports competitions, foods, vendor booths and special ceremonies.

Other California cities that host (or have hosted) Hmong New Year's events include Yuba City, Sacramento, Stockton and Merced. However, none quite compare with this festive celebration that's been held for over 40 years.
