Gotta shop? Like to win? Head for the quaint row of red shop-buildings along Hwy. 89 during Downtown Graeagle's Shop-Hop on Memorial Day Weekend.

Get your shopping "passport" stamped at just over a dozen stores for a chance to win a giant gift basket of merchandise from each store or numerous gift certificates and prizes.


This well-loved shopping event, put on by the Graeagle Merchants Association, will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Memorial Weekend. Also visit the Mohawk Valley Artist Guild's art fair on Sunday and get a bonus stamp for another chance to win.

Graeagle's identical red buildings were mill workers' homes when the town originated as a lumber mill. Today they're home to a few eateries and unique shops offering jewelry, gifts, books, home décor, kitchen items, clothing, bikes, art, antiques and more.

Shop-Hop winners are announced late Monday; you don't have to be present or buy anything to win - though we doubt that will happen!

If you're coming with a non-shopper, no worries. There's plenty to do nearby at the Graeagle Mill Pond, area golf courses, the Lakes Basin Recreation Area or Portola and Lake Davis!
