The crowd at these events is all ages with the focus on listening to great acoustic and string talent in the American folk and bluegrass traditions, plus other genres. With the return of artists such as Dave Grisman, known for his band's swinging renditions of songs by musicians such as Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt, the four-day music festival also veers into other genres such as jazz, and maybe even something from the Grateful Dead, a band that Grisman once played with.
The event organizers describe the spring or fall gatherings as a reunion for a multi-generational community of music lovers.
Festival camping and family recreation on 100 acres of conifer forest include easy access to permanent restrooms and portable toilets, handwashing stations, shower facilities, garbage/recycling service, and more. Strawberry’s multi-day camping ticket guarantees space for dry camping with any size or type of vehicle. Shaded space is plentiful for groups, both small and large.
