By C. MacDonald:

Long Beach, Ca--People were dancing, people were singing, people were praying, people were thrilled to be part of the recent 4th Annual Long Beach Gospel Fest, which featured some of the finest musicians and singers in the U.S.

More than 25,000 came to hear multiple Grammy Award-winning Christian singer Israel Houghton, whose popular cross-cultural music fuses jazz, rock and gospel. They came to see the legendary Dorinda Clark-Cole, also a multiple Grammy Award-winner. They came to cheer the award-winning, cutting-edge, Greater Los Angeles Cathedral Choir. But the happy multi-ethnic crowd, dressed in a variety of bright colors, also loved the amazing talent of several other entertainers, whose enthusiasm burst across Marina Green Park causing vibrations, smiles, praise, dance and jubilation.

Jamelle Jones and F.R.E.E.D. (Favored, Redeemed, Endowed with the Holy Spirit, Empowered & Divine), an ensemble of praise and worshippers with different church backgrounds, fired up the spectators with their powerful, fresh, inspirational style, which had folks jumping to their feet and joining in.

The park was rocking throughout the fun-filled, free event, produced by Pastor Wayne Chaney Jr., his wife Myesha and their Antioch Church of Long Beach. "Sharing the love of the Lord through gospel music truly uplifts both the audience and the singers," Chaney said. "Gospel music really moves its listeners. It gives them a positive message. It gives them hope. I'm so glad we're able to share it with so many people today."

The crowd was electrified by the passion, the message, the skillful sound and the camaraderie united by the Gospel Fest and its location next to the Pacific Ocean. Aundrae Russell of KJLH 102.3 FM hosted the adventure. In addition to the great sounds and words, people were joyful over the food and merchandise vendors such as Beach City Dental Group, as well as Kid's Zone, which had an interactive mobile museum, sponsored by the Museum of Latin American Art. It definitely was a day to remember. We're already looking forward to next year's Long Beach Gospel Fest. To keep up with this fantastic event, go to longbeachgospelfest.com
