CSULB Annual Pow Wow, Second weekend in March

Presented by the American Indian Studies Program, American Indian Student Council, American Indian Student Services, Division of Student Affairs, Student Life and Development, and Associated Students, Inc.

Annual CSU Puvungna Pow Wow & Outreach returns to the campus central quad for the largest spring event of its kind in Southern California. Focused on the university's strong American Indian presence. 

The two-day event, which features American Indian dancing, arts, crafts, food, contests and inter-tribal dancing, includes Gourd dancing.  All dancers and drums are invited.

2 p.m. Dancer Registration Closes
4 p.m. American Indian Student Council Special
5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dinner Break - California Indian Presentation
10 p.m. Closing: Retire Colors and dance out
Sunday
11 a.m. Gourd Dancing
1 p.m. Grand Entry
6 p.m. Closing: Awards, Retire Colors and dance out

Native foods such as mutton and beef stew, Navajo tacos, fry bread and Indian burgers on sale at the event, and American Indian vendors will be selling both traditional and contemporary American Indian art.
