September 30, 2016

Dear Friends and Guests of Huck Finn Jubilee,

The Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau took over management and production of the annual Huck Finn Jubilee in 2014. We created a non-profit, trademarked organization for Huck Finn Jubilee and were proud to take the festival to the 40th Anniversary celebration in 2016. The Tucker Family created and produced this Bluegrass Music Festival for many years and it was an honor to continue their legacy.

It has been our pleasure to operate Huck Finn Jubilee over the last three years. Today we are announcing the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau will no longer be managing and producing the Huck Finn Jubilee Bluegrass Music Festival. We have decided the festival is not meeting the requirements of the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau core mission for funding and goals to create a significant economic impact to our region.

Although the number of attendees grew year over year, the rate of growth was not substantial enough to meet our goals and financially justify continuing the festival. We believe the primary challenges are a direct correlation to a decline in growth, expansion and the evolution of Bluegrass music in the Southern California market. The Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau will continue managing our other events to promote our region to visitors. We will consider new festivals in the future that would have the potential to draw a larger audience from across the nation.

Thank you for your support for the last three years. We enjoyed making new friends, learning about the culture of bluegrass music, and sincerely wish everyone the best. It is our hope that Huck Finn Jubilee can continue with a new management company.

Sincerely,

Michael K. Krouse, CMP, CHME, CASE
President & CEO
