Wasco, California, Rose Capital of the World, celebrates annually with a four-day event presented by Wasco Rose Festival Foundation the weekend after Labor Day.

Wasco Rose Festival and Parade is a four-day event held annually the weekend after Labor Day. It launches with Miss Wasco Rose Queen Pageant Thursday in the Wasco High School auditorium. A reception honoring the Grand Marshals and honored guests including the newly crowned Miss Wasco Rose Queen takes place Friday.

Then on Saturday, the big day, events include a fun run, pancake breakfast, Wasco Rose Parade, Vendor Faire, car show, student art showcase, deep pit dinner and casino night.

On Sunday the annual festival concludes with basketball tournament championship games. 

About Wasco Roses:  Wasco is located in San Joaquin Valley (Kern County, Calif.) with hot summers and cool winters. Just 20 years ago, 50% of all roses grown in the United States were grown in or around Wasco.
