What's New CA Hotels 2014

  • COSTA MESA: Crowne Plaza Hotel new Fireside Tavern, a classic American eatery with a modern feel, is located in the recently renovated Crowne Plaza. Offering a warm atmosphere and a contemporary menu of American cuisine and cocktails, the tavern welcomes guests with a comfortable lounge/bar, intimate dining room, and a relaxing patio with a fire feature and both dining and bar seating. Lunch and dinner will feature different menus of starters, small plates and larger entrees, and Happy Hour is from 3 to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight.
  • SANTA CRUZ: Santa Cruz Dream Inn hotel welcomes a new surf-themed Jack O'Neill Lounge featuring floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Monterey Bay, a prototype O'Neill wetsuit under plexiglass and vintage surfing photos. The lounge's signature drink menu includes Jack's favorite, a Ketel One martini, along with an ever-changing roster of unique, California coast-inspired cocktails. Just below the lounge resides a permanent mural adjacent to the site of Jack O'Neill's Original Surf Shop, which is a State of California Point of Historical Interest. The 55-foot-long marble mural boasts a collage of historic photos of Jack and a bronze plaque. Over half a century ago, the first wetsuit was created by Jack O'Neill when he experimented with neoprene from the carpeting of a DC-3 airplane.
  • SONOMA: The Sonoma Creek Inn has recently completed renovations to its 16 guest rooms, including new carpets and bed treatments, new flat screen televisions, Keurig coffee makers, and fresh original artwork and design elements. In addition, the inn has a brand-new air conditioning and heating system, and the check-in area has a beautiful new hardwood floor. All of the Sonoma Creek Inn's rooms now feature individually controlled heat and air-conditioning, complimentary wireless Internet access, telephones with data ports, inroom refrigerators, hair dryers, ceiling fans and cable TV. Free on site parking is included with all reservations. 
  • NAPA: The Meritage Resort  guest rooms in the main building now feature a new, modern design, including new carpeting, bedding, desks, chairs and tables. In addition to revitalizing the 157 rooms and suites, three were converted into Bella Suites, with a studio setup designed for brides and bridal parties offering a full-length mirror, steamer and other amenities.
  • RICHMOND: New Extended Stay Property in Richmond's historic Hotel Mac is opening the Carriage House, an extended stay addition one block from its downtown location. The two-story Carriage House features five spacious luxury guest rooms with full kitchens and is in walking distance to area restaurants, shops, galleries, businesses and event spaces, making the property an ideal choice for business or leisure travelers planning a longer visit.
  • SOUTH LAKE TAHOE: The newly renovated Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel, set in the heart of South Lake Tahoe has  upgrades to all 400 rooms in the nine-story, all-suite hotel. Elements of the renovation include new towels and bedding, new carpeting and décor, new 42 inch flat screen televisions and new furniture. In addition, the hotel's four premium balcony suites were redesigned to mirror the alpine environment of the property.
  • The Lakefront Beach Retreat & Lodge at Tahoe has  new bedding, drapes, décor, bathrooms and balcony furniture in all 262 rooms. The Beach Retreat has also relaunched its Boathouse-on-the-Pier restaurant, which offers lunch, afternoon cocktails and dinner, with ever-changing seasonal menu selections.
  • PASO ROBLES: The Paso Robles Inn historic boutique hotel upgrades include renovations to all the guest rooms, including 18 winery-themed spa rooms, a new mural telling the story of the Paso Robles wine region, a new front garden and back patio area, major upgrades to the Coffee Shop, including the addition of specialty coffees, and new carpet in the Grand Ballroom.
  • PISMO BEACH SeaCrest Ocean Front Hotel  SeaMist Terrace features three natural gas fire pits, outdoor lounge furniture, a marble-topped self-serve dry-bar with bar stools and three state of the art gas barbecue grills. The terrace, located on the grounds just north of the pool, was redesigned to offer a dynamic, new lounge area for guests, and offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean from the bluff-top property.
  • NORTH HOLLYWOOD: Beverly Garland Hotel reopens as North Hollywood's newest boutique hotel with retro-cool California style designed by Forchielli Glynn, known for their work with hotels such as Miraval Resort and the Peninsula Beverly Hills. All 242 guest rooms, 14 suites and public spaces were renovated.
  • MARINA DEL REY: Historic Marina Del Rey Hotel 160 room hotel will offer a full-service restaurant, 24 hour room service, concierge assistance, a marina-facing pool and sun deck, and an outdoor wedding venue.
  • IRVINE: Courtyard by Marriott Irvine Spectrum is a new hotel with 210 guest rooms with views of Saddleback Mountain, Laguna Canyon or Spectrum Center. A lap pool, putting green, spa area, 1,500-square-foot fitness center, lounge/bar area, guest laundry, convenience market, and outdoor cabanas and fire pits, plus 8,500 square feet of meeting space, including a 5,000-square-foot ballroom, a 3,000-square-foot events lawn and a boardroom for private gatherings.
  • ORANGE:  Ayres Hotel Orange offers 139 guest rooms and assorted public areas featuring bamboo lined walls, back-lit wood carved panels, driftwood, rocks and rattan screens, all intended to create a Zen atmosphere with contemporary style. Guests of the hotel will also be treated to a complimentary full American breakfast buffet, with cooked-to-order eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and waffles, in an open dining room
  • SAN DIEGO:  Manchester Grand Hyatt complete renovation of the first and fourth floor meeting spaces, significant upgrades to the wireless network to increase service from 40 Mbps to 450 Mbps, additional hang-points for audio/video production to create more floor space for event use, a wayfinding system utilizing electronic reader boards and touch-screen technology, and the construction of three meeting planner offices.
  • CORONADO: Loews Coronado Bay Resort Loews room renovation is inspired by traditional Spanish missions and contemporary yachts, and features an eclectic mix of classic pieces and modern touches. The new room decor incorporates cool blues, yellows and silvers, plus amenities like added power and data outlets, USB ports, Wi-Fi, recycle bins and luxury bedding.
