  • CARMEL, CALIF.--La Playa Carmel Hotel has experienced an extensive, multimillion-dollar renovation that brings new life to Carmel-by-the-Sea's historic La Playa Hotel. Just two blocks from the ocean, the luxury property features amazing views from 75 guest rooms in modern designs with pillowtop beds and 250-thread-count linens in eco-friendly upgrades to the guest rooms, lobby and library lounge.
     
  • CORONADO, CALIF. --Loews Coronado Bay Resort completely redesigned its lobby, Bay Terrace, Cays Lounge, and Market Cafe to complement the resort's other renovations to its  guestroom bath renovations, meeting space and corridors (Loews is known for its corridors!) Investing $12 million over the last three years to enhance San Diego's sparkling bay views,  guests can see a two-story chandelier of suspended glass spheres and freshly painted walls in soft shades of blues, grays and natural tones. Beyond the resort's grand staircase, a new floating bar offers panoramic views of the San Diego skyline and Coronado Bay. A media wall with nine flat-screen LCD televisions broadcasts sporting events, while communal bar tables promote casual networking. Outside on the Bay Terrace, oversize teak sofas are arranged in conversation groups with fire pits for a warm glow in the evening hours.   • DEL MAR, CALIF. --L'Auberge Del Mar, a 120-room full service luxury resort on 4.5 hill top acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean was purchased by LaSalle Hotel Properties, a Bethesda, Maryland company. It has four restaurants & bars, 12 meeting space offerings, a spa & fitness center. Del Mar Beach, Del Mar Racetrack, Torrey Pines Golf Course, Gliderport, Amtrak, and University of California, San Diego are attractions and amenities surrounding the property.  The resort which was  extensively renovated in 2009 originally opened in 1989.

Operated by Broughton Hotels, a Newport Beach-based firm that owns 14 properties in California, including the Spanish Garden Inn in Santa Barbara, the historic Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica and the Morgan near Hearst Castle, opens the Moment Deck & Bar, a 2,000-square-foot deck with views of the Hollywood Hills.
