	Union Square Macy's Tree Lighting the next day, Friday, at 6 p.m. 
	 Many Christmas shopping sales are geared to this special day.
	
	Union Square Shopping is a mere three-to-four blocks from the hotel and the 
	walk to the stores is filled with colorful fresh flower stands, Cable Cars 
	along Powell Street, and crafts people selling wares curbside on Stockton 
	Street between Post and Sutter.  
Department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Macy's border the square lined with Emporio, Armani, Tiffany & Co., Vera Wang, Jimmy Choo, Bulgari, Uniqlo and Wilkes Bashford. Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom are a few blocks further. It makes for a great walk the day after Thanksgiving. Be sure to take your shopping list--most stores will wrap and ship!
