 Atwater, California has a seasonal ice skating rink in time for the holidays - and boy, do the locals love it! You can visit this Merced County city on State Route 99 between Merced & Livingston and check it out if you happen to be in  town or passing by mid-Novemer to the New Year.

The rink hasn't been around that long but much to the credit of Atwater Old Town and generous sponsors, they've worked diligently to bring it back several years in a row, due to popular demand and a lot of hard work.

In 2021, for the first time in Atwater's history, a  community-funded Ice Skating Rink opened to the public. Old Town Atwater president, Jason Hoogenhous, said it takes an annual budget of $300,000 to build an ice rink and operate it.

The First Annual Old Town Ice Skating Center (Sponsored By RAZZARI of Merced worked closely with the Atwater Elementary School District, local authorities, as well as the Board of the City of Atwater to bring families the most lively and safe experience the town has to offer!

Last year the Atwater High School Jazz Band performed holiday favorites in a free concert at the ice rink. Other such performances are in the works and my return in 2023-2024 season.
