San Francisco Maritime Museum is part of a complex of several buildings and historic ships located on the bay. From the water you can see Ghirardelli sign in the background.

The Aquatic Park Bathhouse Building (Maritime Museum) with Hyde Street Pier, Visitors Center, and the historic ships in the background are part of the National Park Service's unique Aquatic Park Historic District.

  • A ship with the black, grey, and red-colored hull is BALCLUTHA, an 1886 square-rigger.
  • USS PAMPANITO is(SS-383) is a World War II Balao class Fleet submarine.
  • C.A. THAYER is an 1895 built schooner.
  • EUREKA is an 1890 built steam ferryboat.
  • ALMA is an 1891 scow schooner.
  • HERCULES is a 1907 built steam tug.
  • EPPLETONE HALL is a 1914 built paddlewheel tug.
