The City of Fresno each Saturday from 8am to Noon invites volunteer groups to assist with basic clean-up and maintenance of public parks. Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants, hats, gloves and sun block and bring plenty of drinking water. Basic work tools and supplies will be provided by the City of Fresno. Each volunteer will be required to complete a volunteer form and waiver.

beautiful 9.3-acres park with an early California theme is located in Northwest Fresno. Visitors will be greeted by a Margaret Hudson California Grizzly Bear sculpture at the park entrance. Because the park is an excavated storm water retention basin, its features are arrayed at three different elevations. The park's upper street level tier provides year round recreation, and features include picnic pavilions, little and big kids' play areas, swings, and other old California-themed play areas. The middle tier has an open turf play area, a wheelchair basketball court, and two interpretive mazes. The entire middle and upper tiers have wide, gently sloped walkways. The lower tier has a permanent lake, which provides stormwater capture and groundwater recharge. Observation docks over the lake provide views of adquatic habitat and wildlife. Oso de Oro Lake Park is fully usable and not just accessible to children and adults with a broad range of disabilities. The park is also partially operated and maintained by individuals with varying disabilities.
