It's really sad when you see injured birds with broken wings, knowing they will never fly again. Or a bear that has permanently been tagged as too domesticated to return to the wilds.

It happens far too often, but thank goodness for the zoos that are able to take care of these animals and birds and save their lives! At Big Bear Lake's Moonridge Animal Park (zoo) it has always been a challenge to find funding to feed and care for the animals, but they have hung in there and have not only brought comfort and care to many creatures, but provided a learning opportunity to thousands visiting the mountain resort on vacation.
