Seal Beach, California Gates are Sealed

The signs of seals are everywhere you look in Seal Beach, California, where nearly one-third of the residents live behind gates in Leisure World.

The picture here is actually from Ocean Blvd. in Old Town Seal Beach where signs, statues and even trash cans all have Seal Beach's seals embossed, sculpted or painted on them.

Seal Beach in a north Orange County beach city, one of six incorporated beach cities in the county of over three million residents.

The signs of seal such as this iron gate that says, "Seal Beach" and features two seals, all painted green, provide friendly reminders that there used to be quite a few seals in Seal Beach. At least that's how it got its name. Today the seals are few, but the reminders are plentiful!
