Seal Beach's annual car show is one of its biggest events and
fundraisers for the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce each year. Held on Main
Street, the event extends onto the Seal Beach Pier plaza where guests can buy
snacks, snow cones, and admire the shiniest, fastest prototype vehicles, or the
oldest, slowest classic cars.
Seal Beach Pier's plaza area hosts numerous events with an annual summer
concert series, annual kite festival, surf contest, Rotary Fish Fry and fishing
derby for kids attracting large crowds. When December comes along the pier is
lit up with sparkling holiday light decorations providing a month of additional
night-time glow to the already lamp-lit structure.
Shown in the photo above at the base of the Seal Beach Pier is the Seal Beach
Police Department - Jack Haley Community Safety Building. Due to the size of the
pier, cars are not generally parked on the pier itself during the car show,
though a truck or car daily drives onto the pier and parks by special permit as
a service vehicle for Ruby's restaurant.
