Del Rey Lagoon Park in Playa del Rey has
a set of basketball courts near the
beach making for great weather and less
sweat when you play a challenging game
with friends or strangers.
Surrounded
by mature palm and shade trees, there's
a parking lot (often full) near the
basketball courts and there are also
many parallel parking spaces that line
the street going into the park. A more
expensive pay parking lot a few blocks
away sits at the river jetty. It has pay
a pay station, so you more often can
find parking there.
The courts are set in a valley with
three and four story houses on the
bluffs to the east, and small sand dunes
to the Pacific Ocean to the west. The
beach is just steps from the basketball
courts, that are part of a neighborhood
park containing a kids playground,
baseball diamond, lagoon and picnic
tables.
