Visit Dana Point debuted in 2016 as a new non-profit and official destination marketing organization (DMO) for south Orange County, California. Four Dana Point resorts in cooperation with the City marketed Dana Point previously with the goal of one day creating an entity to grow local tourism.

"The We are pleased to introduce it to the community and our all-important visitors just in time for summer," said Jim Samuels, General Manager, Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa, and the newly elected Chairman of the Board of Visit Dana Point. Other elected officers on the Board of Directors represent DoubleTree Suites by Hilton-Doheny Beach; Monarch Beach Resort; and The Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel.

According to Dana Point's mayor, the City anticipates Visit Dana Point will bring global recognition to the community.

Visit Dana Point joins other DMO's in the OC tourism scene including Visit Anaheim, Visit Newport Beach, Visit Laguna Beach, Visit Orange County and the statewide organization Visit California.

Dana Point is located along South Orange County's extraordinary Coastal region halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego with easy access via air, ocean or major freeways. Known as the whale watching capital of the west, Dana Point Harbor, the Marina and the Ocean Institute provide for world-class boating, marine science education experiences and interactive water adventures.
