Californians must really like Christmas. Why? Read the signs! Road signs related to the holiday include the most obvious Christmas Tree Lane in Altadena and Santa Claus Lane in Carpinteria (Hwy 101). Those who can remember when Santa Claus sat on a rooftop in the shopping village at Santa Claus Lane may know that the iconic, waving Santa (shown in top photo) was saved by the kind folks of Oxnard. Lovingly painted on a regular basis and visible next to the northbound lanes of Highway 101 in Oxnard, this jovial bearded man smiles all year long for travelers passing by.
Other Christmas road signs throughout the state include Christmas Road, Christmas Circle and Christmas Drive; Reindeer Drive, Reindeer Road, Reindeer Street and Reindeer Way; Mistletoe Street, Mistletoe Road, Mistletoe Avenue and Mistletoe Court; plus, there are numerous roads and streets with names such as Holiday, Blitzen, Donder, Dasher, Prancer, and more! Enjoy Christmas on California roads each and every day!
