This Labor Day weekend Ripon, California plans to “Color the Skies!” with an annual hot air balloon & kite festival Sept. 5-6, 2015. The San Joaquin County city wakes up early (often a necessity for hot air ballooning) with a pancake breakfast at 6 a.m., then the balloon inflation at 6:30 and ascension at 7:30 a.m. Sky activities such as a Kite Candy Drop keep visitors entertained with their eyes to the skies. Two weeks later on Sept. 19 & 20 ClovisFest in Fresno County follows a similar pattern–up at 6 a.m. to watch hot air balloons inflate and ascend by 7. Bring your camera for these colorful photo opportunities. If you’re looking for a hot air balloon ride, however, here are some possibilities where sky’s the limit!
