Fashion Festivals and Shows aren’t just for women as evidenced in Sacramento Fashion Week — and they’re usually not straight-laced, as seen in the upcoming Hot Couture in Oakland where fashion is smoking hot. Sometimes a festival looks like a fashion show even though attendees will tell you it’s not (as in anime and comic-cons.) When you attend a Pow Wow, Scottish Festival, Chinese Festival, Pirate Festival, Renaissance Faire, Oktoberfest, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween Parade or Mardi Gras, people dress in costumes and they dress to impress. There’s a lot to look at and life is seldom boring in California’s constant parade of fashion statements.
