Fashion Weeks

There is no specific rule as to when you'll see fashion shows, festivals and fashion weeks in California. Each city has its own schedule -- and the concept that once existed in the retail industry of Fall shows for Spring-release products, and Spring shows for clothes to become available in the Fall, has sped up to more of a see now-buy now approach. California's fashion industry also markets to many buyers who can sell light weight clothing year-round thanks to Mediterranean climate.

Hot Couture 2017: The Beautiful Ones creates a bold, fiery setting in which fashion designers unveil their work. While only a small portion of the runway models are fire dancers, flaming industrial displays are a dramatic element to stagecraft. The event begins with Bay Area vocalist Netta Brielle performing, music and intermission sets by Pam the Funkstress at the turntable, and Bay Area radio personality, Sterling James, hosting.
