Buskers, Bok Kai and Beer are Here — in California

Buskers
When the weekend arrives some plan to get a little crazy. Is there anything hotter than blowing fire (instead of blowing off steam?) San Diego’s annual Busker Festival at Seaport Village this weekend entertains, amazes and inspires with acts that you probably shouldn’t try at home.
Bok Kai
Each year Bok Kai (also known as Bok Eye,) the Chinese Water God who protects Marysville, Calif. from flooding, is celebrated in the Bok Kai Festival, which attracts thousands of visitors from San Francisco, Seattle, Oregon, and even Hong Kong. This weekend one of California’s oldest parades features traditional Chinese lion dancers, lots of fire crackers and the famous 175 foot long golden dragon named “Hong Wan Lung.”
Beer
On March 2, 2017 a humongous beer festival began tapping the barrels for Sacramento Beer Week. Taking place over 11 days with too many events to count on two hands, the festival launched with Sacramento Brewers’ Showcase on March 2. Then there’s Capitol Beer Festival on March 11. See sacbeerweek.com
