Hang Out, Have a Ball at Testicle Festival

So you ate the worm in a bottle of tequila–wow! That’s nothing compared to trying really exotic, unusual and interesting foods in California’s unique ethnic neighborhoods. The food court at Asian Garden Mall in Little Saigon, for instance, serves pho, a soup featuring tendon, tripe, octopi or squid. You can also step into markets and select live frogs in tubs to buy and take home for dinner.

Nursing a hangover from too much tequila? On Saturday mornings, Santa Maria, Santa Ana and nearly every town has fresh Menudo, containing animal organ meats such as stomachs and brains, pigs’ feet and assorted animal hooves. Yum!

On March 27, 2017, head to an annual favorite, Oakdale’s Testicle Festival.  In recent years the event has even featured the award-winning Bushwacker, retired now, but saving his family jewels to make ‘million dollar babies’ sure to follow in daddy’s footsteps (hooves).
