Pictured (left) is the recent Daffodil Hill season in Volcano, Calif. Lasting only a few weeks beginning on March 17, 2017, the attraction was closed several times due to dangerous conditions caused by rain. The owners of the farm graciously welcomed the public to their private land where millions of daffodils spring up each Spring. And now they’re posting a warning: “We’re closed. Entering without permission is considered trespassing.” People have been climbing fences and getting on the property — and the owners say that makes them sad.
In the California desert the enthusiasm to spot wildflowers recently caused the National Park Service to issue alerts that roads were backed up with throngs of people coming from L.A. Then came another alarm. Enthusiastic flower lovers are trampling the flowers in their zeal for selfies and pictures.
