
Up and away… in Clovis, California at the annual Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly, part of Clovis Fest. Balloon pilots begin inflating around 6:15 a.m. and liftoff around 7, weather permitting. Visitors enjoy delicious breakfast items. Unfortunately, balloon rides are not available to the public. California Calendar of Events includes some really great celebrations that have little or nothing to do with the October holiday.

KINGSBURG: Selma Marching Band Festival Oct.26 takes place this year at Kingsburg High School. Marching bands offer much pizzazz!
LOS ANGELES: L.A. Jazz Institute’s Out of this World Series Oct.24-27 celebrates big band jazz from around the world.
PALM DESERT: Golf Cart Parade Oct.27 is amazing!
