Up and away… in Clovis, California at the annual Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly, part of Clovis Fest. Balloon pilots begin inflating around 6:15 a.m. and liftoff around 7, weather permitting. Visitors enjoy delicious breakfast items. Unfortunately, balloon rides are not available to the public. California Calendar of Events includes some really great celebrations that have little or nothing to do with the October holiday.

CHERRY VALLEY: Olive Festival Oct.25-27, 2019 offers down-home fun on the farm. Olive fans can’t get enough.

HUNTINGTON BEACH: Moto Beach Classic at Bolsa Chica State Beach Oct.26 transforms into a wave-shredding, fuel burning, hard-rocking extravaganza in the first of its kind intersection of surf, skate and motorcycle culture with live performances.

KERNVILLE: Fall Festival Oct.26-27 offers Dachshund Races, Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest, Chili Cook-Off, Sack Races, petting farm and much more!

KINGSBURG: Selma Marching Band Festival Oct.26 takes place this year at Kingsburg High School. Marching bands offer much pizzazz!

LOS ANGELES: L.A. Jazz Institute’s Out of this World Series Oct.24-27 celebrates big band jazz from around the world.

PALM DESERT: Golf Cart Parade Oct.27 is amazing!

PASO ROBLES: Golden Honey Festival is another delightful downtown celebration.

REDWOOD CITY: ZOPPE Italian Family Circus through Nov.3.

SAN FRANCISCO: Fiesta on the Hill Oct.27 attracts thousands of people over 7 blocks to share the rich fabric of Bernal Heights and its surrounding neighborhoods.

SOUTH EL MONTE: LA Fall Fair Oct.25-Nov.3 at Whittier Narrows Recreational Area includes Unlimited Carnival Rides,  FREE with admission.

VISTA: Fall Tractor Show Oct.26-27 at Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum features Tractor Parade, Threshing Demo, Grist Mill, and Weaving & Spinning!
