Golfer who Loves the Desert! Known for
his role in the Larry David Show, the
actor has enjoyed a longtime career and
many successes, but his brightest moment
comes when he appears in the Golf Cart
Parade in 2011.
Parade route: Starts at El Paseo at
San Luis Rey, travels along El Paseo to Ocotillo.
California's Wackiest Festivals include racing beds, outhouses, chasing
after the fog, dressing like poison oak,
kissing a pig, celebrating earthquakes
and hosting a Golf Cart Parade.
Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade is exactly what its name implies or
states-- it is a parade of decorated
golf carts.
The parade began in the early 60s,
and was launched by a couple of
fun-seeking people. The parade
didn't become an annual event until 1983
when enough people decided it was worth
investing the time and energy to produce
it annually.
Christmas in July was the
first name for it. The FireCliff Lodge served turkey dinners and the carts were all decorated for Christmas.
The parade is in October now, and
enjoys over 10,000 spectators. Everyone
loves something different and unique, so
the event has gained world recognition
and fame.
